An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
